What part number is the TV module? The early ones did not do 16:9 only 4:3. You need a TV monitor that can do 16:9 or 4:3+16:9
The TV module is a useful item, even when we go digital. The module has two inputs so one can be used for a backup camera and or auxiliary video input.
Or for when we do finally go digital you can use this

You would need a video splitter and connect it to the existing TV module

Hi Ken, I'm sure its the early one as today I removed the blue plug from my tv module and plugged it directly into cd drive, now have full screen on all modes but lost the tv function on my menu list.
I was not bothered loosing this function but the link you have is a option but if I'm correct I still need the 16:9, you mention two inputs? how or where are these.
Another feature seen has been a 1/2 din size dvd player fitted where the tape should be "now that did impress me" and if I could get all the parts for this mod then it's a sure for me as I love a challenge :)

Certainly is the TV module then.
The two inputs are there, you just need to some extra wiring to tap into the second one.
You will need a 16:9 tuner otherwise you will only get 4:3. BMW do a hybrid tuner bit I think its around £500.
I also have seen the half size din player in were the cassette, I have also seen an E39 wit the dash top monitor from a Z4
