Its actually not listed in the service guide that the fuel filter is ever replaced by BMW! I was told this a couple of years ago when I visited my local dealer to enquire where the fuel filter was housed. Its a bit silly.... and has to rank right up…

It may be worth checking or getting checked all the various bushes under the car ! they do wear out, which can lbe unnoticeable , but over time can lead to this sort of thing, the wheels need to off the ground to do this......good luck.... R

Certainly is the TV module then. The two inputs are there, you just need to some extra wiring to tap into the second one. You will need a 16:9 tuner otherwise you will only get 4:3. BMW do a hybrid tuner bit I think its around £500. I also have se…

What part number is the TV module? The early ones did not do 16:9 only 4:3. You need a TV monitor that can do 16:9 or 4:3+16:9 The TV module is a useful item, even when we go digital. The module has two inputs so one can be used for a backup camera…

FBMWSH !!!!!

FBMWSH my a$$, I recently thought I would look for the position of my fuel filter whilst I had it up in the air at my mates garage, found it under the left hand plastic floor trim near the front. Being nosey I removed the bolts and screws holing it to find the part #, this is why I have put fbmwsh in my blog title, the date on it was 2 months before the car was built !!! its nearly 10 years old !!. So ordered a new one which I fitted the next day, very easy just pull back the 3 quick release fit… Continue

Help with E39 M5

Hi all my first blog!!! I don't know if its just my car that does this but the question I would like to ask is when put my brakes on to fully stop, the moment it does it seems to rock back and forth as though it has jelly tyres, is it normal ? and secondly the back end does not seem solid as though something is lose and it wants to move left or right. Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated. P.s changed all 3 seals on dif this week and fresh oil, Neil "spanner"

After getting my ///M5 on the road it seemed a little under powered, so I went down to see my mate who owns an independent Audi garage who I have known for 24 years which I help mechanic for and go hill climbing with, a 800bhp+ short wheel Quattro and borrowed his snap-on diagnostic scanner, plugged in found my way to the engine management and read if any codes that were present.
