Slot Car Racing
Cutting a long story short, a few weeks from leaving the Surrey area, Dad died the year before, out on a bike ride, discovering new areas, I stumbled accross a Go Kart track in Worcester Park, Surrey; even better , in the Clubhouse, in a separate room, was a huge slot car track with grown men racing, 8 or 10 lanes. The cars were better than the Scalextric ones then, faster and more up to date.
I thought this was amazing, being able to race with 8 or so other people, stood up as well, as opposed to getting sore knee caps kneeling on the floor at home, racing a sole friend.
It was heartbreaking that we were moving, as both the Karts and the Slot cars, I would have joined the club and was more thrilling than managing to play Hideaway ala Eric Clapton on the Mayall Beano Album for the first time.
I went home depressed knowing I was going to miss out on something huge.
A few years later, I came home to find Mum had donated my Scalextric to the local jumble sale, even worse, all my Motor Racing Programmes, which usually had 4 or 5 signatures on the cover, I even had The Late great Enzo Ferrari's moniker on one, although not in purple ink, more like a blunt pencil.
Back to the point; does anybody know if the Worcester Park Slot Car and Karting Club still exists?
Does anybody know if there are any slot car clubs in the East Midland areas?
Are there any members interested in such things?

when i get to a 100mph i get a noise at the top of the window from the wind like its not going over car nice and some thing is flaping but i really cant see how any thing can flap
